FAQs
Your Questions Answered
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy can help if you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or want to make meaningful changes in your life. Many people seek therapy for specific issues like trauma or anxiety, while others want personal growth. The best way to know is to try a session.
What can I expect in my first session?
Our first session is about getting to know each other and understanding your goals. We'll discuss what brought you to therapy, your history, and what you hope to achieve. It's a chance for you to ask questions and see if we're a good fit.
How long does therapy typically take?
This varies depending on your goals. Some people see progress in 8-12 sessions, while others prefer longer-term support. We'll regularly check in on your progress and adjust as needed.
How do I use my insurance benefits?
We provide receipts that you can submit to your insurance provider. Many clients with extended health benefits are reimbursed for sessions with a Registered Social Worker (RSW). We also offer direct billing for some insurance providers.
What's your cancellation policy?
We require 24 hours notice for cancellations. Late cancellations may be subject to the full session fee, with exceptions for emergencies.
Do you provide services for urgent mental health crises?
No, we do not provide emergency or crisis services. If you're experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911, go to your nearest emergency room, or contact the Distress Centre at 988.
What ages do you work with?
We work with youth (4+) and adults of all ages for individual therapy, as well as couples and families.
How do I book my first session?
You can schedule a free 15-minute consultation right here on this website, or by calling 519-444-5541. This gives us a chance to connect and ensure the right therapist for your needs.
